Learn about the first 77 Minutemen who stood against 300 British Regulars in the early morning of April 19, 1775 known as “First Shot Heard Around the World” and how this pivotal clash sparked the American Revolution.

CLASS DESCRIPTION

This class is more than a history lesson—it’s an opportunity to connect with the legacy of those who fought for freedom and to understand the foundational principles they secured for us. Their sacrifices remind us that liberty is not free, and it is up to us to preserve and protect the freedoms they fought so hard to achieve.

This is a PowerPoint slide show class with audio narration that takes approximately an hour and a half. It features 7 of the key battles because they are key turning points in the war. There are also several optional video links available that may take an additional hour. The emphasis is on the little-known people that did extraordinary things.

  3. A male slave who fought 5 of the years before retiring.

David Barton: Historian

Barton has collected 100,000 documents from before 1812 - original or certified copy of letters, sermons, newspaper articles and official documents of the Founding Fathers.

YOU ARE NOW IN THE YEAR 1776

As a colonist you read this new letter nailed up on a wall. It’s called the “Declaration of Independence!” You are reading the wonderful news!!! Telling everyone that. “American colonies have Separated from England!”

We are a new country called “The United States of America.”

This means freedom from England!

It also means going to war to get it!!!

(This Declaration is also the foundation for America’s new Constitution that is yet to be written.)

After 6 years of war. It is now October 19, 1781. We have now have won the War for Independence.

Riding your Horse home. You arrive Philadelphia Pennsylvania it is now May 1787.

You are now peeking in the window of Constitution Hall during the meeting with fifty-six delegates. They are debating and arguing about what to say and how to write the words that will set the course for the entire future of this country. For the next five months these fifty-six delegates worked on authoring a very special document. It’s hot. It’s secretive. It’s dangerous.

In this course you will be an observer to history as you gain insights into how the Christian faith influenced and guidance of the Founding Fathers. You'll discover why their wisdom remains as pertinent today as it was in 1787. Although the Constitution was ratified in September of 1787 it was not a finished document yet.

Back to your time machine !!!! POOOF you are now in December 1791

There is a new meeting of those same fifty-six delegates. They are meeting again in the same hall to write the first ten amendments (the first 10 changes) to this new Constitution. Using (Article 5 of the Constitution) “We The People” are now making Amendments to the Constitution. The “Bill Of Rights” are the laws protecting “We The People” from the Government.

You can now be that observer at “Constitution Hall” peeking through the video window now opened by this “CONSTITUTION ALIVE” class.


WHAT is this like? This course is presented with 11 total videos split into 3 separate days.

Each day is 6 hours long. Showing 45 min. to 1 hour each video with a 10 minute breaks after through each video. Each video is filmed in Constitution Hall with references back to the founding fathers documents at the historical WallBuilders Library.

The Work book fallows the videos with fill in the blank questions.

It has the Declaration of Independence.

There is special full “Constitution Made Easy” chapter. As written. As it was intended. By the founding authors. With the modern vocabulary text in parallel. All the constitutional amendments are placed it the articles that they apply to.

Such as a list of each state’s founding fathers.
